Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

TRIKE Preview

Through the generosity of a couple of good people, the Ligonier Valley Trail acquired this Schwinn trike to use for the benefit of raising money for, and awareness of, the trail. If the attention it drew on the sidewalk by Indiana Schwinn Cycling and Fitness Center is a sign of things to come, the trike will be a hit. We are told that it is one of the most popular rentals on other area trails.

It is a fun vehicle, with three gears that got us up and down part of the Hoodlebug Trail in Indiana on our test drive. The seat has a back rest, and there is an ample basket for quite a load of groceries, your library books, or a picnic. For as large as it is, its relatively light.
You can visit us at the Ligonier Country Market on August 8th, and have an opportunity to own this trike in the fall by participating in our fundraiser for the trail. We have already ordered a bike rack for the community, the first one being located at the Country Market. Look for more information as the time gets closer, and if you miss us, we plan to be at the Country Market at least one more time later on.

Our first big thank you goes to Stephen (anonymous for now) for the donation of the Schwinn Town and Country Adult Tricycle.

And without the donation of the assembly of the trike by Bob Reininger and his son Matt, at our closest Schwinn dealer in Indiana, PA, we would just have a box of parts. It is fantastic to know how large the bicycle community will reach to help get a trail and a project like this go.
Thank you to Stephen, Bob and Matt for your time and generosity.
