Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

First Friends Trail Clean Up

This is where we started at 11:00AM today, with threatening skies overhead.
Bob Gangewere, Recreation Board VP.
As requested, everyone came well prepared with tools, and started working. The first task was clipping, sawing and clearing out the saplings and brambles that had grown over, and around the pile. New cuttings were stacked on one pile, while old boards and lumber made another. Dave's machete made quick work of the thicker branches. Dee cleaned up, after the big stuff was moved. The cuttings and rotten lumbers piles began to grow, and then the cinder blocks started to appear.A little chain saw activity made the job easier, with Dave clearing as Bob cut.
Way to come prepared, Gentlemen! When all was done, a substantial cinder block pile was dug out from the middle of the shrubbery and dirt. After only one hour, the tree area was cleared, piles were separated for recycling or trash, and we had time for a trail walk, JUST before the rain came pouring down.Friends Trail Clean Up Team
Thanks go to: Dee and Bob Kuban, Dave Tetkoski , Sharon Detar - Recreation Board President, Bob Gangewere, and Rose Stepnick, Project Manager.
