Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Railbed Update

Its been a short while since we put out a request for a volunteer to help along the rail bed for the excavation. We have a volunteer, but we can use more. Contact us at lvtrail@gmail.com

The work has been on hold because of the need to add a pole in the middle of the rail bed section that has guide wires angling to the ground. They can be seen in yellow covers, behind, and to the left, of the group of walkers in the photo below.Allegheny Power has had incidents in the past where they have become a problem, and preferred that we block them or replace them with another pole. The paperwork has been done, and the job will be scheduled to add the pole, and hopefully be completed in less than two weeks.

We now need to get back on the calendar for the excavator to finally come and surface the trail. We thank him for his patience, and yours too. We know that many of you are anxious to see this first portion completed.
