Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Mill Creek Bridge Permit Approved

We are one step closer to building a bridge over Mill Creek behind Weller Field. Last month we received notice from the DEP that our bridge permit is approved. Within the permit, we have requirements that take into consideration the flooding in that area that we must be aware of when we choose the bridge type and construction materials.
Thanks go to Jim Pillsbury, PE (in blue jacket) at the Westmoreland Conservation District for guiding us though that process. Thanks also to all the volunteers and officials that contributed to this effort.

There is much more happening regarding the trail. Much of it requires patience and waiting. Other people and groups working on trails know this well. We hope to be able to have more good news in the coming weeks that will lead us to putting the bridge work to bid, and constructing another portion of the trail.

As the weather appears to be cooling, we will be forming teams for September work days. Please watch for these postings and send us your contact information if you would like to help.
