Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

"Its A Thing of Beauty"

That was the title of a post on the Ligonier Living blog yesterday. Diane Cipa posted a gorgeous photo of the archway over the trail bridge, glistening in the sun.

In Larry's garage, waiting for delivery to the bridge
We've posted a few sneak previews here, and on FaceBook, but no more teasing.
The South archway being lifted into place

Two beautifully crafted arches now stand on each side of the trail bridge over Mill Creek, welcoming all who cross from both sides.

Welding the archway to the bridge
Our thanks go to the municipal crew from Ligonier Township who assisted in the installation.
Larry Shew - Artist/craftsman - at the installation of the archways.

The person responsible for the design and production of the archways is Larry Shew, a Ligonier Township Recreation Board member, and the new Project Manager for the trail project. He has jumped in to every aspect of the trail work from fundraising to construction, with total enthusiasm, and as "retiring" Project Manager, I am so pleased to have Larry continuing with the dedication that this project deserves.
